A major source of energy is right under your feet! Your own backyard has the potential to be your source of heating and cooling your home.
Now you can obtain safe, reliable energy efficient heating, cooling and hot water from one piece of equipment. It moves heat from your home to the earth during the cooling cycle (summer) and heat from the earth to your home during the heating cycle (winter).
The land surrounding a home contains a vast amount of relatively low temperature thermal energy, typically 10 times the amount required over an entire heating season. This resource is constantly re-supplied by the sun, the surrounding earth and heat rejected during summer cooling.
Geothermal, or GeoExchange “ground source” heat pumps are mechanical devices (machines) that use a small amount of electric to move heat to and from the earth, via a fluid medium such as well water which is an excellent carrier of that thermal energy (btu’s) back and forth between the heat pump and the earth. They are essentially an air conditioner that can run in reverse.
Not to confuse them with air source heat pumps, ground source units rely on a nearly constant earth temperature year round. On Long Island that temperature is approximately 53 degrees making it ideal for both winter and summer.
In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act!
